Digital Millennium Copyright Act Compliance
Overview
YourVPN respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and respond to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement.
As a VPN provider operating as a transmission conduit, YourVPN does not monitor, store, or have access to the content of user traffic. However, we take copyright infringement seriously and will take appropriate action when we receive valid DMCA notices.
Prohibited Activities
Our Terms of Service strictly prohibit using YourVPN for:
- Downloading, uploading, or distributing copyrighted content without authorization
- Using peer-to-peer networks to share copyrighted material
- Any activity that infringes on intellectual property rights
Users who violate these terms are subject to immediate account termination without refund.

Filing a DMCA Notice
If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed through our Service, your DMCA notice must include:

Identification of the copyrighted work
A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. -
Identification of the infringing material
Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (e.g., IP address, timestamp, account identifier if known). -
Your contact information
Your name, address, telephone number, and email address. -
Good faith statement
A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. -
Accuracy statement
A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner. -
Signature
A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent.
Our Response to DMCA Notices
Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, we will:
- Review the notice for completeness and validity
- Attempt to identify the associated account (if identifiable)
- Take appropriate action, which may include:
- Warning the user
- Suspending the user's account
- Terminating the user's account
- Document the notice for our records
Important Note: Due to our no-logs policy, we cannot provide historical browsing data or traffic content. Our response is limited to account-level actions based on identifiable information provided in the DMCA notice.
Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with the DMCA, YourVPN maintains a policy for terminating accounts of repeat infringers:
- First offense: Warning sent to the account holder
- Second offense: Account suspension for 7 days
- Third offense: Permanent account termination without refund
In cases of egregious infringement, we reserve the right to immediately terminate accounts without prior warning.
Counter-Notification
If you believe your content was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake
- Your name, address, and phone number
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district
- A statement that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original DMCA notice

Warning: Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake, may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
